We had a really good christmas but I hate the aftermath. It looks like a toy store threw up. It doesn't help that I decided to tackle the toyroom today or otherwise there was no way I could put new toys away.
Here is the dining room after I took everything out of the toyroom.
Here is the aftermath in the living room.
These pictures make me want to be sick but I want to keep this blog real. So this is what my house looks like tonight. I'm spending the night cleaning the house before my family comes over to visit tomorrow.
I hope everyone had a great christmas!
Wish me luck and I'll be back tomorrow with after pics.

It is good to have a deadline to complete it by. I can hardly wait to see your after pics.
Well, you know better than anyone that I've been in the same spot myself. Start on one side and work yourself around the room. The photos always make it look worse than it is - though I like taking photos of my rooms that need improvement because I always see stuff I don't seem to see with my "regular" eyes. Having family come over is certainly a heck of a great motivator. Cleaning while the boys are sleeping is probably waaaaaayyyyyyyy easier too. Hope you get some sleep tonight. Good luck!!
Oh - and we have the same ladder - which for some reason made me laugh.
oh my!!! i love knowing i'm not the only one. i did the same thing a couple days before Christmas. it truly looked like a tornado went through my house. BUT i did throw out 2 trash bags full of broken and misfit toys and i put a giant box full of gently used toys on the road...free to a good home!
good luck!
I just had to say I LOVE the 'after Christmas pictures!!!"
How did you make out with your clean up?
I can totally relate. Hubby has been off this week. Once he is back to work it will feel more "normal" again.
Love the reality of this too! I took a pic of my kitchen and will have to show it off sometime soon :) Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I think every house looks like that on Christmas Day.
